Reset

Sometimes you need to change your surroundings to reset your mindset. Before you know it, you're stuck in a routine doing the same thing over and over again. I plateaued. I felt, in my mind, like I was improving everyday. I was going to the gym, I was trying. I wasn't trying hard enough, I wasn't challenging myself. You can't let your body predict what your mind is going to do. Your mind needs to outthink and outwork what your body thinks is coming. Keep pushing.

"Setbacks"

I put it into quotes because it's kind of misleading... For example, I just had surgery and they would call that a "setback" in my fitness journey, but it isn't a "setback" if I don't view it as one. Your mindset will overcome a lot of things once thought of as barriers. This time off from the gym is giving me time to reflect, plan, reenergize, and filling me with fire so when I'm able to get back in there, I'll kill it. I have pulled muscle in my hip that put me out for 6 months+, (twice), dislocated my left shoulder, dislocated my right shoulder, it never stops me. After my hip injury I've ran 20+ half marathons and...

MyRootFit is born

Here we go! I got into fitness in College. I shared a dorm room with a guy I went to High School with. He kept me motivated and pushed me. Eventually, I saw results. The results became addictive. My diet naturally changed. Eating pizza with some buddies seemed so much less desirable when I knew how hard I would have to work to burn those calories off just to get back to where I was before I ate the pizza. My whole outlook changed. I did my best and still do my best to inspire others around me. Thank you for checking out my page, I am just getting started!
